Theo Ciccarelli Cornetta is a maker working in woven structures and critical theory. Their work connects with both the historical depreciation of fiber and craft in the capital “A” art world and the lineage of women/gender minorities, people of color and other marginalized groups making outside of the majority. Grounded in critical gender, race, disability, and class theory, Theo’s work questions internal conflict under the weight of systematic oppression. 

Originally from the midwest with strong ties to the east coast, Theo now lives in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Theo received their M.F.A. from Temple University in 2020. Outside of their art practice, they are deeply engaged in community support and social change.
